A Fix for Stiff Hips

  • Himalayan Institute 952 Bethany Turnpike Honesdale, PA, 18431 United States (map)

Yoga is such a beautiful practice as it will help release muscle tension and reduce fatigue, but it will also open up areas of our bodies that have been locked, tight or resistant – on all levels.  Imagine the areas of our lives we might be able to bring some lightness, flexibility and openness to.  There is a relationship between the body and emotions.  There is also a relationship between the body and the mind.  If we can release and open areas of our bodies that may be chronically tight we can shed light on areas in the mind and emotionally that have also been tight or resistant to change.

The hips are one of those areas – if not the main one. Tight hips can wreak havoc on our comfort, posture, ability to sit still for any period, move in any coordinated fashion and enjoy simple activities in life.  There are so many muscles and ligaments that comprise the hips and connect it to the pelvis, legs, low back and abdominal area.  If even one area is ignored or underdeveloped it can have an impact on all the others.  By opening up the hips and working from all directions we will unleash lightness, flexibility and openness to possibly many other areas of our lives.

Don’t let tight hips slow you down from growing and expanding to your greatest self.

We will:

·        Unlock your hips and open-up physically, emotionally and mentally.

·        Learn 6 ‘Go to” postures to release and relax tight hips.

·        Understand the nature of how you sit matters in your hip tightness

·        Set up a routine for long term success in hip freedom
